Update!

Today is the first day off I have had in ages...sorry I have been out of reach, July has been a crazy, CRAZY month.

I've been mainly been spending my time zooming all around the UK playing MASSIVE radio events, kicking off at the MEN Arena in Manchester! The crowds have been crazy. Thank you to anyone who came to check out my little shows! Hopefully I'll have a tour of my own coming up, I can't wait to play a full set and work   on a bit more of a show!

Another big deal....I filmed the "Defender Video"!!!!!!! We filmed it in Chelmsford's  water factory. There was lime scale falling from the walls (eww) and it was quite cold and lonely looking, but it had just the right character for the video. The video's story line follows a girl (that would be moi) leaving behind one world, stripping back everything that hides who she truly is and then going into battle to protect someone or something she believes in....but that's my little secret ;)

On Monday I played Switzerland's "Blue balls" Festival in Luzern- one of the most beautiful cities I have seen. We played alongside James Morrison and I just loved the whole show! I wish I was staying to check out the other acts on the line-up this week;THE ROOTS THE DANDY WARHOLES and GILL SCOTT-HERON...Pretty good don't you think?

I also have to tell you about this AMAZING show I am performing at in Paris on the 7th of October! It's together with Marc Cerrone- one of the pioneers of "Disco" music, which you all would know has a great influence on my new record.

Here you can read all about the even "Supernature Symphony". Cerrone wrote the entire symphony on his keyboard in the studio but on the night it's going to be played to 100,000 people with a symphony orchestra! AMAZEE!!!

Click on this link to get the full information and you can hear a preview of the symphony if you click on "symphony"

This week I am heading off on a little holiday of my own. I can't wait to just chill and relax- but something tells me I am going to get ichy feet!

Hope you are all well

Hi Gabriella,

Usually I don't blog, however since you are such an exceptionally singer
I got to tell you my opinion.

I was born '66 and like Blues Rock and SingerSonWriter music
made music myself and got a problem with todays Lady Gaga, Britney whatsoever kinda music
where you don't play an instrument but a computer and friggle samples together - that's no art to me.

Especially that's why I am always happy if young musicians like you, Jonny Lang, John Mayer, Katie Melua ... come up.
That's creativity and MUSIC.

Your fist album blew me away: Great music, great variety and most of all a fantastic voice.

You are in the top 5 for me together with Tina Turner, Katie Melua and of course Aretha Franklin.

You are 18 yrs old and in a place most other musicians never come in their lives
and you got great potential - which you definitely showed with your debut.

That was the good part - now the constructive critics:

Then your 2nd album came out and I was wondering ...
Oh gosh, what did you do ??? Giorgio Moroder blinded you ...

Why do you give up yourself to his unlived music dreams and not your own's.
I don't know with whom you worked before - but that was leading into your music future.
Now you stepped 20-30yrs backwards and its grappy ... you trash your talent if you keep going like this.

Well, I am no to tell you what to do with your life.
However, I got a pretty good understanding of "good music" and what it takes to be creative to do so.

Question is whether you wanna swim in that PseudoDisco, LadyGaga, new pop lane like so many others and don't shine out
or
you wanna be distinct - exactly what you did with your first album.

Or is it that you become commercial ?!
If you wanna make big bucks - well ok do what you want.

If you wanna stay a good singer and become even better and stay in the "Really Good Musician Hall of Fame"
so that people remember you and your songs (1st Album) are played also in ten twenty years
then you gotta get back to your initial roots and get different advisors/managers.

In any case, it was a pleasure seeing you live yesterday in Mainz.
You are a gorgeous and talented singer
and I like to enjoy listening to you.

All the best for your life
Jo.
